Lithium sulfide(Li2S), as a key raw material for sulfide solid electrolytes, offers excellent ionic conductivity and stability, which can significantly enhance the battery's charge and discharge performance. Pure-phase Lithium sulfide(Li2S) appears as white to yellow crystals with an anti-fluorite structure, a relative density of 1.66, a melting point of 938°C, and a boiling point of 1,372°C. It is soluble in water, ethanol, and acids, but insoluble in alkalis.

Features
  • High Ionic Conductivity: The lithium-ion conductivity of sulfide electrolytes is comparable to, or even surpasses, that of liquid electrolytes. This is key to achieving high-power, fast-charging solid-state batteries. Favorable Mechanical Properties: Sulfide electrolytes are "soft" materials with excellent ductility. Under slight pressure at room temperature, they can form tight, low-impedance contact with electrode active materials (cathode, anode). This is crucial for building batteries with low interfacial resistance and reduced dendrite formation. Ease of Processing: They can be formed through cold-pressing, a relatively simple process suitable for large-scale production.

    Used in the preparation of electrolytes for sulfide-based solid-state batteries, such as Li₃PS₄, Li₇P₃S₁₁, and Li₁₀GeP₂S₁₂ compounds.
